HOLOGRAPHY:

. Holography is the science and practice of making holograms.

. It is a photographic recording of light, other than image formed by lens, resulting in desplaying 3 dimensional image of the holographed subject.
which is seen without the aid of special glasses or other intermediate optics.

. Hologram is not a image but uxually a unintelligible when viewed under diffuse ambient light.

. It is an encoding a pattern of seemingly random variations in the opacity, density, or surface profile of the photographic medium.

WORKING PRINCIPLE:

. It is a techineque which enables a light field, when a light source iS scattered on object to be recorded,
and then reconstructed when the original light field is absent.

. Holography can be thought similar to sound recording.

LASER HOLOGRAM:

. This type is recorded using laser light, which is pure in colour and orderly in composition. In the arrangement, the laser beam is split into two, one is object beam and other is reference beam.

. The object beam is expanded using lense and used to illuminate object. The recording medium is located where this light, after being reflected by the object, will strike it.
The edges of the medium will ultimately serve as a window through which the object is seen, so its location is chosen with this in mind.

. The reference beam is expanded and is made to shine directly on the medium, where it interacts with the light coming from the object to create the desired interference pattern.

APPARATUS:

The recording of hologram is done by following parts;

. One beam (object beam) is spread using lenses and directed onto the object using mirrors. Some of the light reflected from the scene then falls onto the recording medium.

. The second beam (reference beam) is also spread through the use of lenses, but is directed but it doesn't come in contact with the object, and instead travels directly onto the recording medium.
