Nigeria has failed to fully harness it's enormous rich mineral endowment as it has only paid more attention to oil. The full dividend of the crude is not even harness as known of it's refinery is working, paving ways for crude oil theft, subsidy fraud and even most of the by-products of the crude are not accounted for.

Almost all the states in Nigeria are endowed with one or more solid mineral resources but are yet to be harness for the benefits of the citizens. Except for illegal miners who are harnessing into their personal pucket.

If these untapped solid minerals are well harness, it could boost the social economic status of such states as they could be enough internal generated revenue instead of relying on monthly allocation from the federal government.

Over the years, states have blame their inability to harness mineral resources is because of relevant laws that vest the control of mineral resources on the federal government only.( 1999 constitution as amended, section 44(3) and item 39 schedule (11)1. And the Nigeria mining act 2007 section (1)1.

The proceeds from these mineral resources are not well manage by Nigeria government for the welfare of it citizens.
Nigeria is currently facing a lot of challenges that have hampet it's growth and development.

One of it's significant challenge is poverty. The country has one of the highest poverty rates in the world, with over 40 percent of it's population living below the poverty line due to lack of job opportunities, inadequate infrastructure, and uneven distribution of our common wealth.

Corruption is affecting all the sector of the society. It has led to lack of transparency and accountability of government revenue .The country growth and development is hindered and the gap between the rich and the poor widened.

The primary responsibility of government is to protect life and property of it citizens. Nigeria government has failed to protect the life of it's citizens by siphoning money met to increase the man power and weapons to combat insurgent. Nigerians has been sacked from their ancestral home . Even in the federal capital territory people can't sleep with their two eyes closed.

Poor budget for education and high budget for traveling and feeding the few in power. Our schools neglected, high cost of running government etc looting with impunity.
