The Diary Game Season 3 Week 21 / November 13, 2021 / Easy and Affordable DIY Christmas Star Decor
Christmas is fast approaching and my house still does not have any sign of the Spirit of Christmas. It has been the tradition for us Filipinos that starting the "Ber" months, every Filipino home will start decorating their house with Christmas decors.
When I was in grade school, I remember we made Star Lanterns for our classroom. Since my two daughters are not busy with their school stuff, I made use of their free time today. So I asked them to help me make some Christmas decors for our house. We made use of our extra tin foil in gold and silver color. We also used their extra art materials from their school projects. So we did not spend a single penny.
So, I'm going to share with you how we did it.
Christmas Star Lantern
Materials:
tin foil or any colored art material that is sturdy like cartolina ( any color of your choice)
Scissors
Ruler
Staplers
Procedure:
Cut tin foil into 6 in x 6 in square
Fold the square tin foil into a triangle.
Fold it again into a smaller triangle.
Cut some slits, around half an inch apart.
Unfold it and connect the end of the slits using a stapler. I used a stapler in connecting them because I am using tin foil. But if you are using cartolina or paper material, you may use glue to connect it. Repeat it to all slits.
- Repeat step 4 until you make 6 pieces of it. Then Staple them together. Staple on the top and the sides.
Tadaaaa!... here is our Simple Christmas Star Lanterns! You may also adjust it into smaller or bigger sizes. It's really up to your preference.
We loved the outcome of our DIY Christmas decor. So we are motivated to make another design. We will still make use of the spare art materials that we have.
This is how we spend our early Saturday which is quite satisfying as we are already productive.

Ang ganda naman ng design ate. I remember din noong highschool pa ako kapag sasapit na ang pasko, gumagawa kami ng mga ganyan pati yung lantern na gawa sa kawayan.
