Poetry 365 | Day 254 | the cost of too much fun
the weakening of mind
can torture brightened souls
even when rejuvenation
takes them to their goals
to balk the speed of moss
and pass it in the noon
can camouflage a task
masked as late afternoon
recovery entow
around a dilettante
can bust the bacon
into bits laid at the front
so play your poker slow
and wait for better hands
but if the game gets old and stale
retract like rubber bands
and start fresh next time out
when luck is in your house
be careful not to worry snakes
as they hunt a mouse
