Lesson 1 - Basic Blues Thumbpicking Part 1

in #tutorial8 years ago (edited)

Today we're going to look at some basic blues thumbpicking using an exercise I got from Acoustic Guitar magazine in July 2003. The lesson was put together by Pete Madsen and was the key to my learning how to learn to use an independent thumb. I teach my students this one a lot and have had some good results with it.

The opening exercises are really good to practice and learn that thumb technique. The later exercises to follow will take you into some chord inversions further up the neck and, by the time you finish lesson 3, you'll have a really great blues tune under your belt!

Thank you Jordan. Rich and relaxing - I like that!

Dude. You have more talent in your little finger than in my entire body. Amazed at your abilities.

Thank you Cap'n!
