ACOM is an all inclusive community. This means that when it comes to matters of governance all ACOM community members get a voice in deciding important matters of token governance. The link between token holders and the decision making process must be one which is transparent and effective in order for good governance to succeed. ACOM is in the process of creating an empowering interface to ensure this objective is met. One of the key aims must be to ensure that central control by one or a few large stakeholders does not occur, that would be unhealthy for the entire ACOM eco-system. We have seen this many times in the cryptosphere with many projects corrupted, and we fully intend to avoid that scenario.
Therefore, we will be introducing a separate governance token called AGOV, this will be the principle means of engaging with the governance system. All important decisions affecting ACOM will be made by people who have stake in the community they are affecting with their decisions. There will be graded token thresholds built into the governance model and these will determine voting rights.
No one will be allowed to buy AGOV off the market. It will be a token in which you can only earn or generate. You will only be allowed to obtain AGOV if you hold ACOM. The main way of generating AGOV will be through our ACOM Yield Farm that has just finished being constructed. Therefore people can lock up some of their ACOM in a smart contract which will generate on a daily basis a certain amount of AGOV, how much AGOV will be dependant on how much ACOM they have locked up. ACOM owners will effectively be mining AGOV.
A governance structure will be established for ACOM on the Aragon platform by way of a DAO. Aragon is a great governance system as it allows a comprehensive governance framework to be established. This creates a jurisdiction in which important community matters can be proposed, discussed and implemented. Depending on how much AGOV each person has they will empower themselves through the application of their AGOV stake which will give them voting power. They will be in a position to influence the direction of the whole community.
