Blizzard Log: Hour One.

The County closed the highway. The storm arrived early. The damned weatherman was off by two hours and everything we feared has come true. We are stuck here at the warehouse; Tommy, Joey, Mark, and myself. I should have listened to my wife and called in sick.

Blizzard Log: Hour Two.

We took stock of our provisions. We've got two sodas and a bag of chips. Bad planning for sure, but we've already agreed to eat Tommy first... if we must. Tommy doesn't know this, of course, but he is single with no family and wasn't at the meeting the rest of us held in the maintenance closet when we realized things were about to get bad. We hope the snowfall doesn't bring down the ceiling. That would finish us.

Blizzard Log: Hour Three.

We took care of Tommy. He wouldn't stop talking about how to split the soda and chips in a fair way. Joey did the deed and Mark and I didn't ask how. Joey is less squeamish and seemed a bit too eager to be alone when it happened. Anyway, we ate what we could and shoved the rest of Tommy into a snowbank for later. The weatherman guarantees the storm of the century. Maybe three feet plus wind and drifting. We are going to be here for days. God help us.

Blizzard Log: Hour Four.

The storm went predominantly south of us. The weatherman couldn't have gotten it more wrong. Six inches of snow and the sky is already clearing. The plows are out and we should be on the road and home before dark. We all feel bad about Tommy. If only he'd have shut up about the soda and chips. My wife is going to be pissed when I tell her I already had dinner. A guy can't win in this world.
