AskSteem: what kind of token would you create on the Steem blockchain?
Without going too deep into some gamechanging ideas that would make you millionaires over a week, unless you really want to share those ideas. :P
I'm wondering what cool fun community style tokens you would create and be active in if you could. At some point in the future I am looking forward to just curating with my own stake and doing a lot of cool things with it than just curating users and content. Maybe I get lucky and happen to be one of the few accounts with a lot of stake that would make supporting a community and its token easier and kind of unique to be in that position.
I'd love to be able to continue doing things that are community oriented now and later too, won't always be looking as to how to profit the most out of this technology even though there is space here for those that do too. I haven't had many ideas but I would love to get some discussions going and see if we could improve upon them and what the others think and who knows maybe even end up creating a token.
I mean it doesn't require a lot of people to create one and have a small community around it that continues growing. With the right incentives and goal of the token it could probably grow to become something amazing. Shout-out to @abh12345's engage token and @whatsup's @dramatoken on steem-engine.com! Really like what I see going on there and looking forward to see many, many more pop up!
Anyway even though steem-engine is new I am sure it will evolve over time and add a lot of new functions or tools to help with the token and distribution so much so that they could become what SMT's was imagined of becoming.
AskSteem: what kind of tokens would you want to see more of on Steem? Why?
I would like to see tokens that reward content consumption, be it watching videos, reading blogs/comments. No upvotes, no comments, no engagement. Algo should figure out how much content user is consuming and reward accordingly. Certain content may reward more if authors or companies promote it with this token. Let’s call it CONSUME.
Also, this token should have inflation and deflation at the same time. Meaning CONSUME held will decrease as time goes on. Unless users keep consuming and accumulating more CONSUMEs.
This would actually be a great one, start it! :D
That is beyond my abilities. I should probably pitch it to @stoodkev to integrate it with SteemPlus.

I really like the idea of a Good Person token... which is earned by people sharing posts/photos of themselves doing good deeds... like looking after the elderly, picking up litter, rescuing baby sloths from burning buildings, etc... the kind of things that we need people to do to function as a society but capitalism doesn't necessarily value.

I would create one to incentivize acts of kindness in the offline world. There would be a community board for posting pictures or stories of the acts. Others would upvote for how much each act should be rewarded. In addition to personal winning each participant would receive, each week the top upvote recipient would get a matching amount donated to their favorite charity. I’d call it Karmacoin.
Lottery token, you can redeem these tokens like lottery tickets basically :D
You have odds of winning other tokens also.

Hmm, interesting, what about something where you can park your votes and part of them go into a pool and if you happen to get the right number after some time you get all of that while at the same time there are daily/weekly lotteries going on, maybe even hourly. :D

Stayingpoweredup token. I like that people should see steem has a longtime thing. And support each other with their votes has the value increases. At the present, a lot of people just power down anyhow they like, I don't think it is cool.

I would create tokens called Comments (CMTS). Users would earn them from making comments on the steem blockchain. Users could earn or keep their tokens for upvotes. There is a base upvote amount that is subject to increase depending on the quality of the comment. The amount of tokens you earn from commenting daily, is limited by the number of tokens you hold. Signup would be similar to steemconnect extension. Once you log in through it, start commenting.
