Another case of censorship
Tucker Carlson from FOX News flipped out on a recent interview recently with Rutger Bregman who is a Dutch historian and author. I don't want to get too much into what was talked as I don't have any knowledge of the Davos billionaire confrontation that occurred beforehand and how things lead up to this point, but judging that FOX did not air this and Rutger Bregman himself had to have someone record this instead and released it does say something.
The point here is that other platforms are now censoring this video for no apparent reason. On Reddit users have shown interest that they want to see it, for instance last night I saw it blowing up on r/videos within the hour but as soon as I posted my comment on there it got removed. The original post can still be found here but of course not much happened after the deletion.
I responded to one of the top comments with this as well cause I am getting sick and tired of these things constantly happening on some of my favorite platforms where I take in information of what is happening around the world.
This post is not much about the content of the video that got deleted but more about the case of Reddit taking sides on what they let exist and what they don't. Hiding behind rules behind subreddits that they've placed to pick and choose when they enforce which and the strength of them and bowing to their advertisers or other political influencers. It's quite sickening in a world that is being manipulated by Media more and more who all are working in the same tune being paid off by other billionaires who are abusing the way things work right now by not paying taxes and instead paying taxes in forms of bribes for censorship and that the news focus on things that won't bring attention to them.
Here is the original video:

I'm glad my fellow Dutchman recorded and published it :-) But how can we get these kind of videos actually stored on the blockchain? Could we see a future where we can easily copy all youtube videos and store them forever on the (our!) blockchain? Instead of a link to a youtube video - not knowing what might they do with it in the future? Maybe I should send him an e-mail and let him jump on Steem - he's part of a large group in the Netherlands realizing 'independent journalism' by crowdfunding the platform and journalists, they might be interested in storing their pieces on the blockchain as well.
You should definitely do that. I was thinking of doing the same so maybe we can check if he is active on twitter although I imagine he is getting spammed there right now after this.
IPFS needs to develop more to allow for storing video data forever. Our blockchain only stores text, but once something is on the internet and users can provide new links to videos if they are taken down I believe that should be enough for now in my opinion.
Consider that a Chinese tech giant just invested $150 million into reddit and we all know China's track record for censorship, I suspect this is only going to get worse.
That's funny, Tucker Carlson talking about someone else being annoying. I kinda didn't want to click play because he's so hard to watch.
I think they didn't want to show it because of Tucker Carlson, not his guest. Possibly mainly because he flipped out, but also that he was kinda supporting what he was saying. People talk about higher taxes all the time. The problem is that they don't want someone that's a Fox host talking about higher taxes and getting rid of the tax avoidance. But, it might have gotten aired if he hadn't started going into the conspiracy of where the money comes from. Yeah, sure, it's kinda true. People get warped by where their money comes from...but people don't want to hear that put that way. Not that I've been taught how to talk to people on such issues any more than anyone else.
In regards to the substance...I always get a lump in my throat when people talk about taxes. The rich should pay their fair share and we should have certain things paid for with taxes that we all need. Roads would be a perfect example of something we pay for with taxes. Less people really NEED roads than healthcare. I myself would be a lot happier with high speed rail and some form of low speed electric vehicle. But I'm still really upset about my cat getting hit by a car. These sorts of things should be a shared expense. But I'm not in favour of how much is spent on military in regards to everything else, like the sciences, space exploration in particular, and technological advancements, like high speed rail, and better schools, etc. That's why I think we should all have more control over where our tax dollars get spent. It might even make taxes a bit more favourable if people felt like they were going more towards things that they support.
Normal every day people pay enough in taxes...and some of them might pay more if they knew they were going towards things they might support. Some of the rich don't pay their fair share...but that's mainly due to our system of providing an insane level of deductions the more money you earn. Perhaps there should be a limit on certain deductions, or a minimum amount paid.
As to the censorship...that's just plain stupid. We need an interface here that's more like Reddit...which is ironic, because of Steemit's name. We also need to make it easier for people to be able to make accounts here, without paying money...because people are tight-fisted with their money...or at least supporting credit cards or paypal!
Amazing that something as simple as an opinion is being censored. Gets one thinking about everything else we are “allowed” to see!

freedom of expression is in danger, the politicians and the powerful of the world recognized the power that the media have (notocia print, news websites, radio, television and even social networks), so they manipulate, bribe and they control, through them they have supported governments, politicians and have sunk others.
interesing theme...
This really works!
Come to Serbia and see what a real censorship is. :D
Fascinating. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. I'm American, but spend 11 and half months out of the country every year, so it's very interesting to me to see how heated things are.
