A few words on OCD
As many of you have noticed that @ocd has been on a break from curating for a while. This has not been because curators have been "lazy", many are eager to continue curating, but we are doing some inner work to get more organized and adapt to changes better.
Like most things in crypto, you have to adapt quickly depending on the surroundings, if you fail to do that you may get forgotten easily.
Even though I can not share much with you today about the update of OCD's future focus as it keeps changing often and will require a conversation with many curators in the team before it goes live. Last time I talked to them a lot of things changed shortly after that made a lot of it obsolete so I am giving it some more time to figure out how OCD's activity can help the Steem ecosystem the most.
There's been a lot of things happening lately on Steem and in some other blockchains. All I can say is that many of the others won't share the advantage Steem has. As there are many dapps existing on Steem and more dapps coming alive, I just want people to know that there are many ways you can incorporate your dapp into the Steem system, although some will need some centralized systems, the most important aspect remains with the blockchain without having to bloat it with something that doesn't require true decentralization and being trustless.
I'm all for a company being "for profit" but I believe they should think about utilizing the blockchain more, not only for themselves, but everyone on the platform that uses Steem. By utilizing it properly you create a pressure on others that may work the same way as you but rely on ad revenue. They won't be able to offer better deals than you over time. This will require time though, so instead of thinking short term. Think long term, not just how can I get the most rewards out of my work on dapp v0.1, think about what you can do with those rewards to further develop your dapp to match the quality of the existing ones. Then once you've got that going for you, the users that compare will easier see the direct advantages a dapp with incentives from the reward pool and at the same time can do the things their old app let them.

Great to read that OCD will get some sort of fresh start! It is always easy to blame people/project for not doing it right, pause or whatever! But it takes courage to let things evolve and sometimes even revolve!

I know how anxious the curators must be to continue recognizing the other artists, but as you say, it is very difficult to do so with frequent changes.
There are some dapps that are being born now but they have a good project and a great future ahead!.

Long term brah, long term. A lot of people are into short term goals and short term satisfactions. That's why when time changes and market goes down, they don't know what to do because they were not ready for it, they only thought about profits.
