Opening 50 Gods Unchained Packs
Hey everyone!
Seeing Eth go up today along with most other coins it reminded me that I've been wanting to get some more Gods Unchained packs before Eth becomes too expensive so I decided to try my luck and buy 50 packs today.
In this video I'll just be opening them up while listening to some Zeds Dead (warning though, the music starts a few packs in as I noticed I didn't have my sounds settings in place).

Not the best pack openings, I did manage to get some rare ones which have less than 1k cards in existence of and only one legendary.
The best card I got was a golden one with only 227 in existence, maybe it'll be worth a lot more one day. Can't wait for this game to officially be released and hopefully I get a beta key to it soon!

Be aware that you'll need something like MetaMask (similar to Steem's Keychain) to purchase packs!

I think i bought around 200 packs. The game looks really great. What im fearing is that they wont be doing any balancing whatsoever after the cards go live. Once they launch a card there cant be any more changes.
Thats a problem because the more cards you launch, the more you affect the meta and the various synergies. But we shall see.
I was a huge Hearthstone (and many cards in GU are carbon copies of Hearthstone cards, lol) player a couple years back so i cant wait to jump into the game.
Wrote a post about the game a few months back on Steemit. Got 50 packs... So theres that. haha
It will definitely be interesting to see what this landscape of gaming on blockchains looks like several years from now. As a comic shop owner, I have a feeling things will slowly move away from real cards as it will probably be much cheaper in the longrun to produce games this way.
Looks like a promising competitor to steemmonsters. I like the pack opening interface, but seems like it would get old after a while. Also like to look of the cards better. Wish sm cards would have some text at the bottom instead of just a big abillity icon. Any initial thoughts you have vs steemmonsters so far?

It's more like Hearthstone than SM. Yeah I could've opened the 50 all at once but I don't buy that often.
The art is really amazing in this, really wish SM had tried a bit harder in that regard considering the cards will exist forever.
Compared to them i don't know, the company seem to really be taking their time to provide a quality game and they also have funding from Coinbase so I'm hoping it'll take a lot of the HS userbase at least. It's gonna be interesting.
Honestly that is one big problem I see with steemmonsters is the art. You look at magic the gathering and some of these other tcgs and they have stunning cards. SM has good art just needs to be improved.
Feel the same way about the "foil" cards. Hoping they come up with something other than gold cards especially with digital cards you could add animation or some other effects to.
Didnt realize they had funding from Coinbase. Makes me think they have to have at leadt some organization and drive to the team. Ill have to check it out one day.
Have they announced when they are sending out codes for beta testing?

They are sending them out little at a time, there's footage of the beta if you want to check out on YouTube but they seem to really be careful with letting people know it's the beta and that a lot can still change graphically I guess.
Will have to check it out later. There is also a new game on the road called Neon District. Seems promising. Also on ETHchain. Wish it would be here on Steem like NextColony. For me SciFi and Cyberpunk are the best :-)
Man looks like you are having fun exploring all the blockchain games. I have refrained myself so that I don’t get distracted from the things I have to do real life and blockchain wise.
I wonder if it is silly to look forward to retiring and playing blockchain games for profit?

Why not, better start early before automation takes all of our jobs anyway. :D
The fact that this game runs ob Ethereum and needs MetaMask is a big disadvantage IMO.
But we will see where this goes Steemmonsters is in this regard well ahead of Gods Unchained.
