''AURORA BOREALIS'' _a Norwegian landscape in aquarelle
I have always dreamed of seeing them, but until then the only way to fulfill my dream is to draw them.
This aquarelle was born out of imagination, desire, contemplation of the sky, as a dream about a faraway Norwegian landscape.
Of course, I would not mind traveling to the other pole and seeing the Aurora Australis. But until then I can only dream in colors. :)
We have such a beautiful Planet Earth!
I am sharing with you the progress of my painting and I hope you will enjoy watching it.
Arches paper is considered to be the best paper for watercolor, but all kind of paper for aquarelle can be used.
For the sky I used a washing technique. Then I applied the pigment and I tilted the drawing so the color flowed in the direction I wanted.
Final stage
Go with the wind.
The dream is far away
Over the night,
With multicolored stars,
Where reigns the silence.

I tried to see which is the best passepartout color for it.
Il looks deep bleu is the best! :)

Nice touch - colors and textures are pleasing. Thanks for sharing your process.
Thanks for watching! :)
I enjoy the breakdown in how you create these. I like how you use gravity to distribute the colors, and the spattering of brushes for texture. I've never seen the borealis myself, but from the pictures I've seen your painting is accurate.
Thanks for sharing this.
Thank you @talltim! :)
