Her Mouth Fell Out. Pen Drawing

in #art6 years ago

An abstract... sort of go with the flow drawing. This is definitely one of those pieces where I just wanted to shut off the brain and run with it.

@achristopherart, I am not sure whether her mouth fell out or my mouth fell out when i saw your drawing. You was so detailed with your work. How can you completed this master piece with just pen? I bet it sure very heavy with your eyesight in order to draw all the little detail. You always draw with pen or you do have other colorful drawing as well.

@oliviackl Thanks for asking. I use pen 99% of the time. I don't feel all that comfortable with color. So far at 29 years old, my eyes are in pretty good shape I think. No glasses yet... but I'm sure that will come.

@achristopherart, it really amazing a pen also can turn into drawing. Lucky you have a good eye sight. Take care of your eye, rest it a while after a heavy drawing by looking some distance object. It can sooth your eye.

Hey, @achristopherart.

So, what did you have in mind when you started this project? Was this it, or is this what turned up?

Either way, I think it turned out great. @veryspider said it looks like splattered skin. I think that sums it up pretty well. It also kind of looks like it's been dried out or even crystallized. Like it could be a full suit and mask if someone wanted to wear it. Now that's creepy. All in time for Halloween, right?

You've probably got hundreds if not thousands of tiny lines there. That's a lot of lines. I'd definitely say that adds up to a lot more cool art than you give yourself credit for.

Well done. Congratulations for the curie, too. Very much deserved.

Thank you. Just like in the description I wanted to do a piece that didn't involve much thought. Usually that turns into a drawing that is an abstract face filled with tiny lines.

I didn't really know what it would turn into, but this is usually roughly the result. I have other pieces that are very similar.

Thank you for the kind words.

Another masterpiece from you! What is the size of this drawing? You know that you don't cease to fascinate me with this tiny tiny tiny little details :)

What did make you decide that it was HER and not HIM? It would be interesting to know :)

This might sound completely silly but if I look at the eyes, nose and the shape of the face (it might not be there but I still see it, lol), it looks like a dog to me. I wouldn't like to come across this dog on the street though :)

Thank you for sharing!

This drawing is 9x12". A bit larger than sheet of printer paper. I'm not sure what made me decide it was a 'her'. I suppose it doesn't really matter. I think maybe I saw something sore of feminine with the outcome, so I went with a 'her' in the title.

Oh boy, this is truly another masterpiece from you, though it does look kinda creepy. The amount of detailing that you drew is amazing! How long did you take to draw this? I am liking this type of pen art. It has very clear and distinct lines that make up each element.

I believe it took around 12-15 hours to complete.

Wow.. that is pretty long. Do you usually draw to complete or you would draw a little, rest a little and come back to it?

I'll usually draw for 2-4 hours straight. Take a break and go back at it.

Amazing piece, Anthony :) I love how you texturize your pieces so well ! And sometimes... your drawings capture exactly how I feel for some days. And there are days where I have felt that my mouth fell out off my face, and this drawing exactly captured the feeling very well.

Love how the face looks like splattered skin ................................. :D

Thanks spidey. Always have the kindest words.

What made her mouth fall out?😀😂😂

This is a really interesting (and creepy) yet beautiful piece of art. It's creepy cool....lol

So you made this using a pen, that means you were careful not to make a mistake while making this and seems like you didn't. Or so you have a technique of covering up mistakes?😉

Haha. Well, over the years I have learned to cover up mistakes. But in this situation, it's really just making small marks with a pen and filling up the page. Maybe I'm selling myself short, but that's all it is to me.

Lol! That's good to know. With experience, you will definitely learn how to work your way through it.

Small marks to fill up the page? Lol! No, youreally arent selling yourself short because ro be honest, i might end up making a mess out of this when given the opportunity to make these small marks.🙈 Lol! Plus, it doesn't even look like it was easily done😀. Don't worry, i wont tell anyone...😉

I love the title, and the drawing certainly illustrates the idea well.

Her top head looks like a splash of water on the floor or she just splattered her brain.

I think I'm going to start titling my work in the same vein as John Lurie. His titles are hilarious. http://johnlurieart.com/prints/

Soooo creepy, those fathomless holes
