Elon Musk, NASA and a Telescope to find Aliens

in #space6 years ago

With the help of Elon Musk and SpaceX, NASA is launching a telescope to find new planets and extraterrestrial civilizations. The rocket will be launched today, Aplril 16 from Cape Canaveral, Florida at 18:32 EDT.

Falcon 9 is the name of the 70 meters long SpaceX rocket that will host NASA's telescope. Transit Survey Satellite(TES) as it is called by MIT's researchers could be able to discover thousands of planets during a time period of two years and about 50 Earth like planets inhabited by aliens.

"In a two-year survey of the solar neighborhood, TESS will search for tell-tale dips in the brightness of stars that indicate an orbiting planet regularly transiting across the face of its star."

SpaceX will broadcast live the moment of launch for TESS as it has done in the previous years with other rockets. A similar event happened in February when SpaceX launched into space a Tesla Roadster having a dummy dressed in the overalls on the driver's seat. It was all possible due to Falcon Heavy, the most powerful operational rocket in the world.

"There need to be things that inspire you, that make you glad to wake up in the morning and be part of humanity"
"That is why we did it. We did it for you."
Elon Musk

Only bad weather and any other glitches may delay the SpaceX rocket launch to 18:13 EDT on Tuesday.
