After some warm up exercise and a meeting, we get to try out different sports activities. I decided to try ice skating.

Singapore does not have many places to skate on ice. This place is one of them. I was given the opportunity to try out here recently. After entry, you go to a counter to exchange your shoes for a pair of skates and change into them before going into the rink. It was quite an enjoyable experience though the rink was divided about a third seems to be use for private lessons and the rest for skating. So, most people were just skating around but there are some trying or practicing some figure skating moves going in all directions and more people came in later and it became more difficult to maneuver around. Good thing yes they have this kind of "skating walker" for beginner who need some assistance. They have a toilet near the shoes/skates counter so it's good to go before you start to maximise your time on the rink. It not too cool and I was in my T-shirt and started sweating after skating a bit any way. I should have brought a pair of gloves. I think it will be easier to push yourself up after falling with gloves. I fell 3 times and got but hand to push my hands on the ice which gets quite slippery.

I have done inline skate for several months in the past and always wanted try skating on ice. This was the first time I skated on ice. It was bit like inline skate but more slippery and I felt the skates heavier than inline skates. Maybe because of the heavy metal below or I've not inline skate for years. :-) Anyway, I got my lady to take some pictures and video. You should be able to see I was less confident in the beginning.

Wow! You are brave! I dare not skate on ice as I don’t want to fall down on hard ice! Water skiing is much better!
I have done quite a lot of inline skate before and thought I should be able to do this but it's still not the same though very similar.

It is not bad. Just that it gets crowded at times.
Ahhh..not a easy thing ice skating but fun when you have eventually mastered it can be great fun i did it as a kid but haven't done it for quite awhile now :)
I think it's like riding a bike and you never really forget but it takes time to get use to it again. For me, from inline to ice is quite different. So, 1 hour is not long enough. :-)
This is true once on the ice ring it all comes back to you well wish you luck and enjoy it is a fun sport :)
