my 2017 welcoming New Year

hi steemians, I hope we have a nice day and in a good mood today.

I am sorry because I’m late, I didn’t notice the deadline in this day.

Before I post my2017 story, I wanna say big thank to @anomadsoul and @blocktrades, whose had a great idea to made this contest I am really happy can participating and share my writing here.

In my 2017, it was still on December five days left before New Year came and change some people because their ambition wanted to fix what they had done in the past year. Many wishes and big planned they made to celebrated that day. On the night of New Year, mostly all the people waited for the times came. They felt happy because they would spend their time with the people they love. I could imagine how lovely that night.

But, it was unluckily for some people who got traumatic or got the tragic accident before the new year came. They could not pretending that they are all right, they could not erase the bad things that happened in the past, as long they try to forget it, as long they remember about it vividly. In our town we did not celebrated the New Year because mostly all the people had suffered and had bad memories on December, It is exactly on December 26th 2004, we got big disaster. Around 130,000 people in the Aceh Province were dead and about 30,000 more were still missing. Hundreds of thousands of people were homeless, and any land records they once had to prove their original ownership had been washed away. Plenty of people in my district feel a great sorrow on that day.
The days before New Year, our governor announced for the citizens should not celebrating it. Leaflets announcing the ban also posted in public places and markets. He said that the sharia police would be patrolling during New Year's Eve to prevent any form of celebrations in crowded places.

As a good citizen, we need to obey to our government city and to respect to people whose felt sadness because they lost their family on the days before New Year.
However, the people who want to celebrate New Year they could go to others provinces, which allowed it. Finally, in the last 2017, I just spent the night with my friends, steemit and a cup of coffee.
