Is rice good on a diet?

in #health9 years ago

Not really,

Rice is largely composed of carbohydrate. On a diet you shouldn't change the amount of fat and protein you ingest, if there is one nutrient to reduce it is carbohydrate.

Moreover rice is very low in other nutrient like vitamins. In country where there is a high consumption of rice (mostly asiatic country you guessed it) they are plague with vitamin deficiency. The most common of this deficiency would be vitamin A which leads to half a million of blind people a year worldwide. Obviously rice isn’t the only one to blame here but as you can see now it doesn’t help.
