I live much too far north to grow cocoa, so it is nice to see your harvest. How many trees did it take to grow the amount in the 3rd picture?
Do you have any trouble with animals trying to get the cocoa when you are drying it? When I dry my nuts, like walnuts, in a similar way, I have to keep the squirrels from taking all my nuts. Does anything try to take your cocoa? Thanks!

I will really appreciate my chocolate more now, knowing that one tree is good for only about 2 kilograms of cocoa! That is a lot of land -- and work -- to bring chocolate to the world! I agree, pests are a problem for all plants that gardeners and farmers grow. Take care of those squirrels so they don't get your cocoa! They have all day, every day, to try to outwit us all! : )
