Enjoying the Winter Sunshine
Following a cold (for me anyway!) spell with rain and a sharp northerly wind, it is flipping lovely outside today!
So I thought I'd take the long route to the supermarket, and take a few photos while I was at it. I've been so wrapped up with charts this week, people may have started to wonder if anything else would appear in my feed. Plus, those blogs are super time-consuming and so I could do with a rest. Thanks for the engagement there though this week, it's been fun seeing how folks have been Steeming this past year or so.
Alright, prepare yourselves for some 'Winter' sunshine. I've been sitting on the balcony the past hour, pasty skin out on display with my first beer of the month (screw you dry January), purchased because it had only part of the label and was on sale. Maybe next time I shop I'll take a few labels off, hmmm.

A few hours in the sun today has felt really good, and I can't wait until it's a little warmer so I can ride to some of the nearby towns. My bike stays in the shed outside and has acquired an annoying squeak on each crank rotation. It's also got half the front-brake lever missing, and is in need of a new set of handlebar grips. Oh well, at least it still goes.

The best thing about all of this is the layers of froth the beer glass - looks like a fine ale to me!
Are those crisps on the medieval looking floor? Bloody Stella drinkers, can't take them anywhere.

It wad Timothy Taylor - it is good. Reminds me of a few good sessions in The Chandos on Trafalger Square.
The challenge these days is to lift my tache over the glass.
The pub does have a slight 'spoons feel to it.. but the main Stellar pub is elsewhere so it'd passable for one mid afternoon!
Bottles for later. Much easier.
I can't imagine it's easy to go froth-free on the tache!
Ahh, that 'spoons feel - yeah not missing that, what a hollow feeling in those places.
I much prefer bottles over hear, I think I've said before. The pints just ain't right.

Job hunting is not going well, until I get offered something and so it's either crap, or hired - hopefully the latter will happen at some point!

Yep. It was the rich, fruity gubbins. We're down to our last couple of slices until next year. It's the only kind of fruit cake I like.

I like Christmas pudding, but not usually that keen on too much fruit in my cake. Right now though, with a bit of custard, that does sound good.

I'm a manual player too. I just get sick of the bots in the lower leagues playing the life splinter.
Sadly most of the feedback they get, or at least take notice of comes from the mavericks and their games in Champion or maybe Diamond. I don't think they have any idea what it's like playing in the lower leagues.
It's impossible to beat the bots that have all the splinters at level 1 except life which they have at 3. And, they seem to play in a ring. I can't quite work out what they're doing because one day they're in gold and the next they're in silver I. Always the same accounts going round and round.
I can't see that people new to the game are going to enjoy it much the way it's set up at the moment.
When I say the script I was able to work out what parameters I needed to set but I have no idea how to run a python script.
I don't want to use it anyway but I'm curious as to how these bots are working.
I only realised recently that you can change the splinter for the daily quest. I had it stuck on 'life' for ages, which is my worse splinter.
I've not bought any cards for ages, and I can tell my deck is getting weaker in comparison to others. Ah well.
As for the script, I've not even looked. Google probably has the answer if you were that keen :)

Yeah it is - sunshine really boosts my mood and if I never saw snow or felt the cold again I would would not be sad at all.
I love the photography of the gorgeous blue skies and beach and palm trees which I love.
Hopefully you will be able to get your bike out and take it for a ride soon @abh12345

As every other wannabe Ex pat is probably saying (apart from revisesociology 😂)... I'm jealous of the sun you're having. Dry January is over rated anyway. I kept drinking until about 5 days ago and now have started my new regime to sort out my gut illness - which includes crazy natural remedies, a stupid low carb diet and... no drinking, lame.
I visited a friend on Ibiza a few years back in late November and it was surprisingly hot. Well, comparatively with the UK anyway. I think it was a bout 25 C most days and sunny all the time I was there, the Balearics in winter has gotta be better than here mate. I do remember how quiet it was on Ibiza in the winter though.

Yeah I'm not missing the cold and rain at all. It is really quiet round here though, I reckon Palma is still fairly busy but that's 1.5 hours on the Bus and well, I don't know anyone there so it would be a costly night out.
Never been to Ibiza, but that peddle-boat with the slide is pretty tempting. Is there a a plastic fold-out table to skin-up on included with each hire? :D
Ha ha, not sure about that... but the hippie vibe in that particular town is strong so I would guess you would be accommodated 😂

It's in the North West of the island away from 'kevin + perry go large' end of the island (San Antonio). It's like a hippie heaven in the North end of Ibiza.

It's way too cold to swim, I'm out the house with 3 layers at present!
Not much seaweed in the sea, it appears overnight after storms and sits there until a local farmer takes it away for use.
Itching to get my pink bikini out though!
Your photos are wonderful.... I love the one with the daisies. I love seeing photos of your sunny neighborhood- We have deep snow and another 6-12 inches predicted for tomorrow with ridiculously cold temps. So I will take all the sunshine I can get
