Dinajpur Railway Station
Trains are a great means of public transport in Bangladesh. Dinajpur Railway Station is a famous railway station in North Bengal, Bangladesh. 13 trains run at this railway station every day on different schedules. Today I am going to add this railway station to the steem atlas.
Dinajpur Railway Station is always bustling with passengers. Dinajpur Railway Station is located in Dinajpur Sadar and was established in 1884. Dinajpur Railway Station has 3 platforms and 4 railway lines with meter gauge and broad gauge. The old building of Dinajpur Railway Station has been abandoned and a new building (modern station building construction) has been constructed. Let us explain Dinajpur Railway Station with the help of pictures. This is the old train building and the entire railway station was previously operated from this building. Now this building is not used for official activities and from now on, activities are carried out in the new building.
This is the new building of Dinajpur Railway Station which is now operational. Passenger services are provided from here.
This is the ticket counter at the railway station. There are two ticket counters on this platform. One sells tickets for intercity trains and the other for local trains. Although now train tickets have to be purchased online and with a national identity card.
This is platform number 1 and only intercity trains pick up and drop off passengers on this platform. Local trains serve passengers on platform number 2. Platform number 3 is the commercial platform from where activities are conducted to send goods for trade with the rest of the country.
This place is the wash pit where intercity or local trains are cleaned. Although this wash pit is now abandoned. As the intercity train route has been extended from Dinajpur to Panchagarh, now the wash pit is operated at Panchagarh, the final destination of the train.
Confectionery shops on platform 1 of the railway station There are a few shops on platform number 1. To inform the passengers, a microphone is installed on platform number 1 for announcement. From here, passengers are warned before the arrival of the train. There is a seating area for the passengers to wait on the platform and a fan arrangement above.
Railway police are deployed in every train to manage the train operations. There is a police station for the Railway Police here from which all the operations are managed. At the same time, there is a room for prayers where passengers waiting for the train can offer prayers.
Dinajpur Railway Station has a lot of railway assets. Let's take a look around the entire railway area. This is the office of the Assistant Sub-Engineer of the Railways, which looks like a very old building.
Abandoned railway tracks and other unused items. I say items because I don't know the exact name of each one.
