Morocco is the seventh largest producer of dates in the world, with about 453 varieties, but the share of excellent varieties remains weak, with only 35% of the Moroccan production, which reached in 2013, a total of 117 thousand tons, of which the annual consumption at the Moroccan level 3 kg per capita for 15 kg for individuals in production areas.

Morocco has about 16 species of the finest dates, which are concentrated in three main areas:
-Ouarzazate, 41 per cent,
-Tafilalet 28 per cent
-Tata 20 per cent
While the geographical area for the cultivation of productive palm trees includes 13 regions located in the south and southeastern region of Morocco, through which they control the area of Tata, Jihil, Aklid, Bouskri, Bustahmi and Eklan in Draa, and Tavilalt, including Boslikhan and unknown.
