@abbzykhan - hope so. Someone did the math once on what it would take for 1 BCT = 500k which would mean that approximately 400 million people worldwide would be involved. Of course the scaling debate will have to have been solved without inflating the coin with all the different forks. BTC has an upper limit of 21 million coins, but BCH split this up to 42 million and now Bitcoin gold threatens to add another 21 million with a new fork in Nov.
Now if these other forks die off then Aristotle's property for SOV will be preserved in the one that survives, but then as a transaction facilitator it will have to scale. Assuming lightning network comes online, that will be a big help, but without it, to facilitate transactions on a bitcoin network at that scale, we'd need to be up in the 1 GB to 8 GB range for block size. That's about 1000x above the current block size.
