Occupy Oakland November 20th 2011 - The occupation of 19th & Telegraph

in #video7 years ago (edited)

It had been a crazy week to say the least. Only a week before someone had been shot and in a separate incident I got the pointy end of a hammer driven through my face by a guy I called out for trying to set someone's tent on fire which landed me in the emergency room because you could actually see the inside of my mouth through a hole other than my mouth, a truly unique experience I assure you. Interesting side story, 11 stitches later I actually ended up smoking a bowl with that guy the next day.

Anyway WE (the occupy WE) had a march planned for the 20th of November

Down to a local school that was about to be closed,

After the march was to end at a vacant lot on 19th and Telegraph that we were hoping to annex as our new campsite since the riot police kept trying to drive of us out of City Halls front yard. Can't imagine why that upset them.

But when we got to the vacant lot the riot police had already setup camp to try and stop us. A huge fence had been erected around the lot with no entry point. That did not last long as you will see. Thats me you hear reporting on the scene as I film

It was just so amazing to witness. I get excited whenever the people rise up against oppressive authority. this is not something new for me. I have long documented history of standing against oppressive forces, State sponsored or otherwise.

all photos and videos are just great

It's a little surprising that people who claim to be Anarchists would downvote something like this. :( Only 3 hours left to do the right thing.
