The Solution to the Blockchain Eternity Quiz

Last Thursday I asked you a question: Which football shirt do I wear in my 'Blockchain Eternity' video?

The winners of the quiz have received an MP3 of my song for free. The quiz is now over. And here is the answer: it's the shirt of Botafogo de Futebol e Regatas from Rio de Janeiro.

Botafogo in one of the four big clubs in Rio, the others are Flamengo, Fluminense and Vasco. When I lived in Rio, I had to choose a football club to support, otherwise watching matches in the Maracanã would be just half the fun. 

When you support a club in Brasil you say Sou Botafogo (or Sou Flamengo, or Sou Palmeiras, or whatever), which means "I AM Botafogo" - and you use the ser form of the verb "to be" which means "to be forever". 

So you see, choosing a football club in Brasil is a serious thing. Which one should I choose?  

Vasco is the club for the Brasilians of Portuguese origin, while Fluminense (whose shirt is green-white-red) is the one for the Italian immigrants. 

Being neither Portuguese nor Italian, I had the choice between Flamengo, one of the most popular and successful clubs in Brasil, and Botafogo, which in my time in Brasil had not won anything for many years, but still had the most committed supportership. 

They call it um time dos loucos - "a team for the crazy people".

So I think you can understand my choice... I also like the black and white striped shirt and the stylish Estrela Solitária ("Lone Star") of their logo. Viva Botafogo!
