This is an overview of the Red Pulse whitepaper, in the last segment there is a small analysis about this ICO.

Red Pulse is a market intelligence platform covering China's economy and capital markets.
The platform covers key sectors such as banking, brokerage, insurance, asset management, real estate, internet, telecom, semiconductors, consumer goods, travel & hospitality, food & beverage, aerospace, aviation and energy.

Problem

The issue that Red Pulse is trying to solve is called Information Overload.
This means that although sources of information on China's financial markets abound, the information accuracy and transparency are ongoing problems.
Reputable news sources report a rumor in the morning and deny it in the afternoon. In addition, the huge amount of Market information makes the task difficult to be processed by a human analyst.

Red Pulse is trying to solve these issues by creating a research content platform focused in 2 main goals:

1. Direct compensation to research producers for their insights.
2. Ensure access to relevant research by consumers.

Independent analysts and market commentators can now contribute their ideas and insights on an ad-hoc basis, and be compensated accordingly.
RPX coin is the mechanism to incentivize research producers for their works, and provides token holders with direct participation in the rise of this enterprise.

Their research process is divided in 6 steps.

1. Data collection
2. Data Clasification and transformation
3. Infromation and trend analysis
4. Hypothesis and insight creation
5. Writing and Editing
6. Distribution and Monetization

The first 3 steps are automated and scaled via machine learning and chinese natural language processing.
Steps 3 to 5 are performed by independent research analysts contributions.
Step 6 is done through crytpocurrency ($RPX).

Contribution

Research will be voluntarily contributed by Industry experts, active investors and market watchers.
Contributions will receive payment for their work in the form of RPX. Better analysis results in greater popularity in terms of net upvotes, which is then compensated with more RPX tokens.

Accuracy and transparency

Red Pulse is trying to handle the issue of information accuracy and transparency using a system-generated Credibility Score, which is calculated based on the accuracy and quality of past research as determined by readers and the Red Pulse editorial staff and general popularity of the contributor's work.

Although the upvote system is not new, they have added a new functionality. Research consumers will have the opportunity to create research prompts by paying an adjustable amount of RPX.
Consumers may also trigger special rights such as exclusivity for adjustable periods of time (paying a little bit more).
On one hand, research prompts allow research consumers to request new research on specific areas, on the other hand, responding to research prompts will allow the research producer to earn at a minimum a preset amount of RPX put up for bid by an interested research consumer. This is in addition to any additional compensation earned by net upvotes.

Red Pulse employs machine learning technology to highlight new market events that may be of significance to both research consumers and producers, while making topical recommendations to both agents.

Cryptocurrency

There are 2 reason to use cryptocurrency

1. To reduce frictional costs derived from a large amount of small payments
2. The usage of blockchain ledger as a publicly-verifiable record to confirm the following:
   a) compensations are received by the content producers.
   b) research consumers will have confidence that crypto-payments have gone towards research.

Red Pulse is aware that the issue of convincing enough independent analysts and commentators to contribute to the platform, while convincing enough research consumers to use the platform is not an easy task.
Red Pulse will start compensating research contributors immediately in order seed the platform with enough valuable content in order to attract a big mass of research consumers.

This is not an expert opinion, just a personal point of view

• I believe Red Pulse is a great project. It is similar to steemit and reddit.
• Although the platform targets China's economy, the platform is in English and Chinese and translators can also receive a portion of the RPX payout, as payment for work done (The accuracy of the translation will also be determined by a net upvote & downvote voting system).
• The Whitepaper is fully understandable.
• The cap is low.
• The company already has a platform that was launched in 2015 and is utilised by financial institutions and corporations. Although the current platform is built only for internal employees to generate and publish content for their clients, they are not starting from scratch, in other words they are expanding their existing business, not creating a new one (they already have a web client and mobile app with daily real-time feed and 6 years of archived market event notes).
• I found interesting that research prompts are priority and are more lucrative for content producers, this is like the UBER of research ... and there is a warranty. If a prompt has gone unanswered after 2 weeks time, they refund the payment.
• They have a partnership with Accenture, Binance, Onchain and NEO. I would assume that RPX will be listed on Binance after the ICO, which means a big pump.
• Although they have a possible solution to the "cold start problem", I believe this will take some time to get a massive adoption.
