WSJ이 13일에 게재한 기사에 따르면 VISA, 마스터카드, 우버, 페이팔 이외에 온라인 결제 스트라이프(Stripe)와 숙박시설 온라인 예약 서비스를 운영하는 Booking.com도 운영 컨소시엄의 멤버로 참여한다고 합니다. 각 참가 기업은 약 1000만달러의 자금을 투자한다고 하니 정말 상용화 된다면 암호화폐를 통해 실생활에 유용하게 상용할 수 있게 될 것 같습니다.
페이스북의 글로벌코인은 법정통화에 연동되는 스테이블 코인으로 발행된다고 알려져있고 페이스북 메시지 앱 "WhatsApp", "인스타그램(Instagram), "메신저(Facebook Messenger)"를 기반으로 운영될 것으로 보입니다.
페이스북의 글로벌코인의 백서는 6월 18일 공개될 예정입니다.
