Having a Plan Is Important

in #blog7 years ago

This is just a quick note. It's important to have a backup plan in case all goes wrong. I started saving up my earnings on all of my blogs for a trip that I am taking next week. I was combining my earnings on Steemit, Weku, and Whaleshares. I made a trade on Weku where I sent my coins to BTS. I was saving up for my food at least. I will only be there like 4 days.

Then after a while, I go back on Weku and the team posted that the gateway is closed due to issues. It could be down for about a week. I sent in my coins way before the team closed the gateway.

I checked my activity history and didn't even see the 1K weku coins there.
(the team also said they are doing manual transactions because some users send WKD instead of Weku) This is why I should keep an eye on the Weku account when I can. I don't know if my coins are lost. I am asking around, trying to get answers and no one is answering me. The best I can do is wait until the gateway is open and see if I get my coins back. Of course, they can't be refunded until the GW is fixed.

If they're gone forever then I will have to collect what I can by Friday and do another trade when the GW is open.
If you want to make crypto blogging your income. Join more than one site so if Steemit goes down or the prices are low, you have other sites to back you up.

Another plan to have is to not turn in all of your credits. Say you get 2K credits, turn in 1K so in case something goes wrong or so it won't take you as long to build back up.

Another plan is to have a crypto blog to hold funds to act as a 'savings account' so you will be covered if stuff like this happens, the price dip, etc
My golos blog will act as my 'savings blog'

I don't know if my Weku coins are gone but I can get most of them back since my posts get a lot of traction on weku I'll have to do another conversion this Friday and it should be done by Tuesday. Then again I sent them in before the team posted. I sent my coin 11 Hrs ago and the team posted a half-hour after I traded so maybe my coins are being held until the GW is fixed. I hope so.

If they go via Openledger chances are that a lot of coins will not be paid out. https://steempeak.com/steempeak/@futuremind/alert-openledger-has-locked-up-steem-and-sbd , if you were using rudex maybe it will still work but the whole bitshares thing might just be a loss in my personal opinion. Since openledger I think is associated I doubt anyone should be dealing with bts in general. I say BTS but also mean all associated tokens since many of the small steem clones went with BTS as the default distribution/exhange etc.

I used Bitshares because Rudex loads too slowly for me. RIP my 1K Weku coins ): The team did post that they will refund pending transactions. They also stated that they do manual transfers because people would send WKD instead of Weku. I'd have to get my 1K or at least close to all over again.
PS I found a tutorial where I can send my BTS to Coinbase with Blocktrades. For Steem/SBD I just use bloxktrades

Goodluck. I know it sucks to lose tokens you were counting on and it is good they are trying to assist, actually did not expect WEKU to give a shit.

Since I am yelling at the air it's best to wait until they fix the gateway to know if my coins were saved.
