Pareto's Principle (80/20 Rule) And How To Do Anything Better
Have you ever started a new diet, routine or skill sprinting out of the gates?
Of course, in no time you end up slowing down and subsequently failing.
Although, you didn't fail for the reason that you think you did.
See, we often focus on the small micro-tasks that someone does, and these are the ones that people popularize.
The tips and tricks that can get you to your desired weight make you focus better, or improve your health.
And after trying all the tips and tricks, something doesn't click.
That's because you are focusing on the wrong set of principles.
It's time we use Pareto's Principle (The 80/20 Rule) to start doing everything better.
Pareto's Principle (80/20 Rule) And How To Do Anything Better
This is the Pareto's Principle.
All you need to do is focus on the 20% of tasks that get you the 80% of results while straying from the 80% of tasks that get you the 20% of results.
When we sprint while starting something the reason that we fail when going to hard is that the tips and tricks require the 80% of effort, but only give you the 20% of results.
For instance, to improve your health here is the 20% effort that elicits the 80% of results:
- Lift Heavy Things and Move
- Eat Whole Foods
- Get Good Sleep
This hold for just about everything.
Whether you are learning a new skill, trying a new diet, or wanting to be more productive, 20% of the effort will always lead to the 80% of the results.
The key is to break down what you want to do and find what is the most valuable.
Once you do this, you will be able to use Pareto's Principle to do anything better.
