"Prove yourself as the best artist for the week".

Greetings and a lovely day to you all in this comment, today I have come to participate in this Contest titled Prove yourself as the best artist for the week organized by @dequeen, and a very big thanks to her for sustaining this contest. Drawing with pencil is more than just putting lines on paper — it is the art of capturing a feeling, a moment, a story without saying a word. The drawing below is a perfect example of that quiet storytelling: a young child, glasses on, with a raised finger over the lips, suggesting silence. Here are the steps I used in creating this drawing, Stay tuned.

MATERIALS

• A4 paper
• pencil
• eraser
• sharpener
• ruler
• black pen

Step by Step process

step 1

To begin with my drawing, I started by lightly sketching the shape of the head. I started by drawing the oversized glasses on her eyes, then I drew her oval shaped head.

After doing that, I then also drew her hair and her finger which is close to her mouth suggesting silence.

Next I drew the shoulder and collar of the girl, The girl's sweater was drawn with emphasis on its knitted texture. I used closely packed lines to create the ribbed pattern along the collar and sleeves.

After that I drew the book which she was holding in the other hand.

Next I then outlined my drawing added some details where necessary and then darker lines was also added and then my drawing was finally complete.

My final result

This pencil drawing was more than a technical sketch; it was a moment captured in time — a child’s thoughtful hush, her oversized glasses adding a hint of playfulness, and her book suggesting curiosity. With just a pencil and some patience, I translated emotion onto paper. Through every line and shade, this drawing reminds us that silence, like art, speaks volumes.
