Hello friends! How are you today I believe you are all fine as I am. I always feel happy participating in this contest and I thank @dequeen for being the organiser of this contest. Here are my details for this week's contest.

✅ Explain what you draw in your own words.

What I drew today in this contest is the portrait of an elderly man putting on a cap. He also put on a jacket.

Materials for the Drawing

• Plain A4 paper
• Pencils
• Eraser
• Sharpener
• Ruler

Step 1
I began by first measuring the drawing space, which is rectangular. I measure it to be 18cm by 12 cm. After the measurement, I sketched the face of the elderly man. For the sketching, I start with the cap, followed by his forehead and the cheek. I then drew his ears and lastly the lower jaw.

Step 2
I sketched the nose and shaded the nostril. I also drew his left eye, the black eyelid and lastly the eyebrow.

Step 3
I drew the second eye, the eyelid, the eyebrow, the eyelashes, and I also shaded the upper level of both eyes.

Step 4
I drew the mouth of the man and shaded his cheek.

Step 5
I shaded the moustache and beard on his face, and I also shaded the left side of his cheek.

Step 6
I shaded the man's face completely. I drew the wrinkles on his forehead, cheek and nose. I also shaded the ear.

Step 7
I shaded the cap on the man's head and I also shaded the hair on his head.

Step 8
I concluded by drawing and shading the jacket worn by the man, and lastly, I shaded the neck of the man and the background of the drawing.

✅ How long did it take to complete your drawing, and how do you feel about it?

This drawing took me about four hours to complete. The drawing seems simple, but it took this long because it is a portrait.
