The Diary Game| 2.06.2025 | Saying Goodbyes
Hello diary, It's been a long time I have not written you. I have been very busy and trying to keep things in order in my life. Well, here I am again writing.
On the second day of June, two weeks ago... I had no option but to say goodbye to people who I have called family for years, and this is how it went.
I woke up early in the morning and had my morning prayers, cleaned the house, brushed my teeth and then took my bath. I had already prepared the clothes for the day. A T-shirt polo and a black trouser with a court shoes.
I arrived school very early and I was in charge of the morning devotion. We had another morning prayers with the kids and I announced to them again that it was going to be my last day with them. There was a mixed reaction in the hall, but they all shouted that they didn't want me to leave...I just had to explain to them why I would be leaving.
That morning, we had a test; so I had to run a revision for the classes writing my test. After the revision, some of the pupils in Grade 4 and 5 went for an external quiz competition at another school. I had used two weeks to prepare them on mathematics for the external quiz and was hoping they win it.
Back to the pupils writing my test for the day, they all wrote the test, after which they had their break time. I went to each class to tell them how honoured I have been to teach them in the last 3 years. A lot of them gave me letters. Some prayed for me in the letter, others wished me well.
By afternoon, I had received a lot of letters, I read them and felt so emotional. The kids made me drop a tear. So by afternoon, I told all the classes to come down stairs for a picture session. I took a picture with all the classes. And a lot of then took turns hugging me goodbye.

While still taking pictures, my kids that went for the quiz competition came back and I also took pictures with them.
They came back with a great news that made me proud of them. They won in the quiz competition. They took first in Mathematics too which made me as their Mathematics teacher prouder.

I also took pictures with the teachers, all of which bid me goodbye and prayed for me. It was great to know people do love me. Went back to get all their test booklets and they all hugged me again.
Some of them cried and I couldn't even look at their faces. I hugged them once more and bid them goodbye.
I stayed back to mark their test scripts and kept them in place for them. I went home very late that day and rested a little before eating and going to bed.
Thanks for going through my diary.
