When I was a child... || ESP/ENG
We enjoyed so many benefits while we were kids: we woke up, helped with the chores, prepared food, and ate enough food without thinking of the bills. Adulthood has made us wish to go back to our childhood moments when we lived so freely. I enjoyed many moments when I was a kid, no depression, no anxiety, just happiness.
I just think childhood is now drifting to being boring, children are now locked in their rooms with their phones and TV, while we learned how to bond with other kids from childhood, since we were that advanced to have gadgets, we played many kinds of creative games offline with friends, running around the whole compound. It is a moment we wish we could run back to.

This is a picture I found from our photo album, I was just 9 years old here. I think the day was 27th May, a children's day celebration. This is always a day children always want to approach faster after Christmas. In our country, Nigeria we celebrate kids using many interesting means, which are;
- By organizing a march pass for school students
- Giving them time to present on different radio stations
- Creating excursions to different places.
Since I wasn't joining my school for the March past, I really wanted to go there and see the events taking place there; on the 26th night, we made the proposal to our Dad, and luckily for us, he accepted it. The happiness we had throughout was unimaginable; we had prepared our clothes already, keeping everything in place so we could leave in the morning. We slept dreaming of us in the stadium. The night was so long that I woke up at intervals thinking it was morning already, but I still had many more hours before sunrise.
The sun was already up; I sprung up from bed and rushed to get my chores done; I couldn't imagine the excitement I had doing my chores real quick; I wish I could have such excitement throughout my Life. We paid our way to the stadium; we held hands because it was very crowded, with people running up and down and horses running past the horseman; it was just a moment to behold.
We found a good spot as we sat watching the presentation by the different forces as they marched past the governor, giving their best salutes. Many schools did their best as the winners were announced some minutes after the presentations. We had a great day as we got ourselves treats.

What is your best memory from your childhood? |

Almost every moment was a great moment when we were kids, we enjoyed many moments with friends. One of the best moments I had was going out with family; in December, we all went to a Nice eatery, and we had good family bonding moments together.
Were you a quiet or naughty child? |

I was a quiet child, not a naughty one in this aspect; I did see children who were basically not quiet but loud; they were so rough that you couldn't even play with them, and they started showing that growth of waywardness as they were growing. Cutting such bonds was very important because, gradually, you will change from being quiet to being so loud and naughty.
What was the biggest prank you ever played as a child? |

Pranks were not really common as at that time, we were mostly focused on games and other activities. We still had little pranks that didn't have much effect compared to the pranks done now, which can cause serious harm to the victims. We will casually tell our friends your "mummy/Daddy is calling you"; they will rush to go meet them, but their parents will ask, "When did I call you"? They will come fuming but start laughing at the end.
What activity or game did you do with your friends on the street or at school? |

We had different fun games we played as kids, both in school and at home; after we were done with school, we would rush home to continue with another section of games. I will list different games played then with friends.
PEN GAME: this was mostly done in school during our free hours. We would kick our pen against another person's own to kick the person's pen out of the desk, so it was a survival of the strongest as it involved skills and also the weight of the pen. We really enjoyed this game then.
THE CHASE: This always involves many kids, a circle will be drawn and someone selected, this person will have a leave at hand as he pursues the other kids, you're only safe if you are in the circle and you can't stay in this circle for more than five minutes, if you're caught you'll now turn the pursuer, as it was called.
POLICE AND THIEF: This involved an equal number of two groups, one group tagged as thieves while the other police, so the objective was that the job of the police was to catch all the thieves as there would be a prison where there are kept when you've touched or caught by the police, you'll be taken to the cell, you can be released only if your fellow group touches you in the cell. The police group wins if they can catch all the thieves, while the thieves win if they finally release all of their group from custody. It was a game of the fastest and most skillful.
Football Counters game:
Using bottle drink covers, we used them as players, had a football field and goalkeepers as we played a game of football, we used buttons from clothes as our football.
There are lots of games we enjoyed as kids but I will pause here as I will give a chance to my friends to share the games they played as kids

De niños, disfrutamos de muchos beneficios: nos despertábamos, ayudábamos con las tareas del hogar, preparábamos la comida y comíamos lo suficiente sin pensar en las facturas. La edad adulta nos ha hecho desear volver a la infancia, cuando vivíamos con tanta libertad. Disfruté de muchos momentos de mi infancia, sin depresión ni ansiedad, solo felicidad.
Creo que la infancia se está volviendo aburrida; los niños ahora están encerrados en sus habitaciones con sus teléfonos y televisores. Mientras tanto, nosotros aprendimos a conectar con otros niños desde pequeños, ya que éramos tan avanzados como para tener dispositivos electrónicos. Jugábamos a muchos juegos creativos sin conexión con amigos, corriendo por todo el complejo. Es un momento que desearíamos poder recordar.

Esta es una foto que encontré en nuestro álbum de fotos. Tenía solo 9 años. Creo que era el 27 de mayo, el Día del Niño. Es un día que los niños siempre quieren celebrar después de Navidad. En nuestro país, Nigeria, celebramos a los niños con muchas celebraciones interesantes, como: - Organizando un pase de marcha para los estudiantes de la escuela
- Dándoles tiempo para presentarse en diferentes estaciones de radio
- Creando excursiones a diferentes lugares.
Como no iba a ir a mi escuela el pasado marzo, tenía muchas ganas de ir y ver los eventos que se celebraban allí; la noche del 26, le propusimos matrimonio a nuestro papá y, por suerte, aceptó. La felicidad que sentimos durante todo el viaje fue inimaginable; ya habíamos preparado nuestra ropa, dejando todo en su lugar para poder salir por la mañana. Dormimos soñando con nosotros en el estadio. La noche fue tan larga que me despertaba a ratos pensando que ya era de mañana, pero aún faltaban muchas horas para el amanecer.
El sol ya había salido; me levanté de un salto de la cama y me apresuré a terminar mis tareas; no podía imaginar la emoción que sentí al hacerlas tan rápido; ojalá pudiera sentir tanta emoción toda mi vida. Pagamos el viaje al estadio; nos tomamos de la mano porque estaba lleno, con gente corriendo de un lado a otro y caballos corriendo junto al jinete. Fue un momento inolvidable.
Encontramos un buen lugar para observar la presentación de las diferentes fuerzas armadas mientras desfilaban frente al gobernador, saludando con entusiasmo. Muchas escuelas hicieron su mejor esfuerzo, ya que los ganadores se anunciaron minutos después de las presentaciones. Pasamos un día genial y recibimos algunos obsequios.

Casi todos los momentos eran geniales cuando éramos niños; disfrutábamos mucho con los amigos. Uno de los mejores momentos que viví fue salir con mi familia; En diciembre, todos fuimos a un buen restaurante y pasamos buenos momentos familiares.

Yo era un niño tranquilo, no travieso en ese aspecto; vi niños que básicamente no eran tranquilos, sino ruidosos; eran tan bruscos que ni siquiera podías jugar con ellos, y empezaron a mostrar esa rebeldía creciente a medida que crecían. Cortar esos lazos era muy importante porque, gradualmente, pasas de ser tranquilo a ser muy ruidoso y travieso.
¿Cuál fue la broma más grande que hiciste de niño? |

Las bromas no eran muy comunes, ya que en esa época nos centrábamos principalmente en juegos y otras actividades. Todavía hacíamos pequeñas travesuras que no surtían mucho efecto en comparación con las bromas que se hacen ahora, que pueden causar graves daños a las víctimas. Les decimos a nuestros amigos con naturalidad que "mamá/papá te llama"; corren a buscarlos, pero sus padres preguntan: "¿Cuándo te llamé?". Vienen furiosos, pero al final se ríen.
¿Qué actividad o juego hacías con tus amigos en la calle o en la escuela? |

De niños, jugábamos a diferentes juegos divertidos, tanto en la escuela como en casa; después de terminar la escuela, volvíamos corriendo a casa para seguir con otra sección de juegos. Enumeraré diferentes juegos que jugábamos con amigos.
JUEGO DE BOLÍGRAFO: Esto se hacía sobre todo en la escuela durante nuestras horas libres. Golpeábamos nuestro bolígrafo contra el de otra persona para que este se cayera del pupitre. Era una lucha por la supervivencia del más fuerte, ya que implicaba habilidad y también el peso del bolígrafo. En aquel entonces disfrutábamos mucho de este juego.
LA PERSECUCIÓN: Siempre participan muchos niños, un círculo conSe sorteará y se seleccionará a alguien. Esta persona tendrá una licencia a mano mientras persigue a los otros niños. Solo estarás a salvo si estás en el círculo y no puedes permanecer en él más de cinco minutos. Si te atrapan, te convertirás en el perseguidor, como se le llamaba.
POLICÍA Y LADRÓN: Se formaron dos grupos iguales: uno etiquetado como ladrones y el otro como policía. El objetivo era que la policía atrapara a todos los ladrones, como si fuera una prisión donde los retenían. Si te tocaban o te atrapaban, te llevaban a la celda y solo podías ser liberado si tu compañero te tocaba en la celda. El grupo de la policía ganaba si atrapaba a todos los ladrones, mientras que los ladrones ganaban si finalmente liberaban a todo su grupo. Era un juego de los más rápidos y hábiles.
Juego de fichas de fútbol:
Usábamos tapas de botellas como jugadores. Teníamos un campo de fútbol y porteros mientras jugábamos al fútbol. Usamos botones de ropa como si fuera nuestro balón.
Disfrutábamos de muchos juegos de niños, pero haré una pausa aquí para que mis amigos compartan los que jugaban de niños.

It was a very wonderful game, if you can't avoid error due to parallax, you lose😅. I played them but didn't go pro.
